Even though a 34 is much bigger the pixel density will much lower.but I think the 29 inch will be 12 milimeters shorter than my 24 inch 16:9.

On a side note, remember to buy a Display Port cable so you can break the 60hz barrier with either AMD or nVidia, with AMD you can get 75hz of Free Sync but with nVidia I was capable of 85~80hz stable.
Moral of the story get the 29 inches since it looks better, feels better and if that's not enough you still get it for cheaper.

I know I am only repeating myself but I did look comparing with them side by side and 34 inches on 2560x1080p sadly is as bad as if not worse than trying to use a 42 inches 1920x1080p TV as monitor, and since you don't actually gain virtual space that extra large screen is rather put to waste.Īlso, does the 29" one really feel small and tiny? Compared to my monitor I'm using now (24 inch 16:9 LG 1920x1080 IPS).?įor the contrary it will be as tall as your 24 inches 16:9 but with a lot more space on the sides.Īs an ultrawide enthusiastic myself I can assure you that the sweetest spot for the 2560x1080p resolution is 29 inches as pixel density is simply amazing, given the fact the 29UM58-P uses a lovely Matte IPS Panel you'll be drooling for its image quality.ģ4 inches on the other hand is a 1440p ultrawide resolution, trust me, forcing 2560x1080p on it only results in heavy pixelation that renders useless the bigger screen size in my humble opinion. I highly recommend an ultrawide, I'll be getting an Acer X34 next year when I can finally buy a Volta GPU to go with it, until then though these 29 inches 2560x1080p80hz have been serving me sweetly.

I don't feel the size of the 29 inches is limiting at all and when it comes down to support well every thing by now but mainstream videos on youtube supports 21:9 just fine and even so there extensions to help you fit 16:9 videos full screen cutting as little as possible on the edges. It has this super high tech touch to it I really feel the best with one in front of me, like it totally gives a different feeling than standard 16:9 monitors. Well I own not one but two 29UM68-P due to hardly finding better cost to benefice on the display market, as I said the image quality is on pair with the highest end displays offering 99% sRGB and all.
